Sweet Donair Sauce (Halifax-Style Garlic Sauce)

Ingredients
  

  • 1 can 300 ml sweetened condensed milk
  • ¼ cup white vinegar
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional: 1–2 tsp water to thin, if needed

Instructions
 

  • Combine ingredients
  • In a medium bowl, add the sweetened condensed milk, white vinegar, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt.
  • Whisk well
  • Whisk until the mixture thickens and becomes smooth and creamy.
  • Adjust consistency (optional)
  • If desired, add 1–2 teaspoons of water to thin the sauce slightly. Stir again.
  • Chill before serving
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to mellow and the sauce to thicken.

Notes

Storage:
Keep refrigerated in a sealed container for up to 1 week. Stir before each use.
